Simon comes from a background in the law and business consulting, with more than 20 years experience in commercialising intellectual property. He founded Innovation Liberation Front in 2012, to help entrepreneurs create businesses from their ideas.

In 2023 Simon was again listed in Intangible Asset Management magazine’s IAM Strategy 300 - the World's Leading IP Strategists.  He has been recognised as a world leading IP strategist in this forum in every year since 2014.

Simon has developed significant global networks within intellectual property and licensing industries through his involvement in the Licensing Executives Society International (11,000 members in 32 countries), and within the community of 10,000 successful business owners in 46 countries that comprise the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (www.eonetwork.org).

Simon spent two years as the President of the Licensing Executives Society of Australia and New Zealand, and also served as the President of the New Zealand chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation.

He enjoys creating art in his spare time, particularly life drawing and portraits.
